CARLA A. DALE
Carla Ann Dale, 88, of Lee’s Summit, was born, September 24, 1931, in Pleasant Hill, the daughter of James A. and Wilma (Kemper) Smith. She departed this life, Monday, September 14, 2020, at the Wilshire at Lakewood Care Center.
Carla was a 1949 Pleasant Hill High School graduate.
On April 12, 1949, she was united in marriage to Billy Joe Dale in Lee’s Summit. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2009.
Carla was employed as a Supervisor for the Lee’s Summit Gas Service Company. She was a member of Lee’s Summit Methodist Church later attending the Aldersgate United Methodist Church and was active in the both the church’s Women’s Circle. She was also a member of the Higginsville Parents Association. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and family get togethers.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother Jimmy K. Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Steven C. Dale of Blue Springs, and Kim Dale of Lee’s Summit; one daughter, Debra E. Dickerson of Lee’s Summit; four grandchildren Justin (and Stephanie) Dickerson of Belton, Missouri, Katie Leigh (and Nels) Godfredson of Olathe, Kara (and Eddie) Treadwell and Elliot (and Amanda) Dale both of Lee’s Summit; 9 great grandchildren; one sister, Linda (and Bob) Carey of Blue Springs; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 18, 2020, at the funeral home. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Richard Bond, Elliot Dale, Justin Dickerson, Nels Godfredson, Jim Piccinini, and Eddie Treadwell. Honorary casket bearers were Dennis Fisher, Bill Snow, and Stan Spruill.
Visitation was held one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Higginsville Parent Association and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
