John Joseph “Joe Joe” Amdor, 60, of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born, March 7, 1957, in LeRoy, Illinois, the son of John and Mary (Woods) Amdor. He departed this life, Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at the Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri.
John was a 1975 LeRoy High School graduate. He later attended college where he enjoyed photography and playing Rugby.
A beloved son, brother, and uncle he was a devout Christian and studied the Bible extensively. The ultimate writing utensil connoisseur, he journaled and penned letters every day until his illness made it too difficult to do so. Joe will be remembered for his smile as well as his sense of delight and happiness for the simplest things in life.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Amdor; his brother Phil Amdor; his sister and her husband, Carol and Paul Chafin.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews; Teri Lawing, Tony Chafin, Gina Buckley, Erica VonRader, Cyndi Rickard, and Greg Chafin and their families respectively.
Cremation has been accorded. A private ceremony will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery in LeRoy, Illinois where he will be laid to rest with his mother and father.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to the Missouri Mental Health Foundation in his memory.
